Welcome to our website
The Tylara Institute, a private registered educational institution, was founded in 1986 by Terry L. Hill, MEd, MA, PhD, a professional adult educator and sociologist, who saw the need for more choices in how, where, what and with whom, one learns. Dr. Hill's personal history in adult education, spans over 30 years, and encompasses community "grassroots", to corporate and NGO, to community college, and to university learning environments.
The Tylara Institute, through its varied course offerings, attempts to give rise to the benefits of a critical consciousness, devoid of burdensome prejudices.
Most programs are therefore structured to be intrinsically rewarding and awareness expanding, rather than being geared to achieve specific ends, for specific purposes.
Some courses, however, achieve the benefits of direct application for select needs. Essentially, most courses are designed to make you first think, rather than first act.
We also have a group of Associates who teach and consult on contract, in various professional fields.
The Institute programs are promoted nationally and internationally.
